Welcome. The NannyClearinghouse.com™ is a unique proprietary pre-employment screening database designed exclusively for the in-home childcare screening demographic.
Database History: The clearinghouse database was established in 2002 solely as an in-house pre-screening tool for in-home childcare screening. The new clearinghouse business model will create a childcare network and allow approved industry related members to submit the names and identifiers of former childcare workers, people known to work with children and others that meet registry criteria. The current database consists of former childcare workers and applicants that have been convicted of specific crimes, crimes of moral turpitude and other crimes deemed incompatible for sensitive in-home childcare positions.
Database Scope: Criminal records set by state statute (see qualifying offenses).
Necessity: The Clearinghouse is needed since there are no statutory requirements or national standards for the elimination of convicted or dangerous in-home childcare employees. The primary objective of the clearinghouse is to be a central screening registry solely for the in-home childcare industry.
Members: Industry related companies only: approved licensed childcare agencies and companies that conduct in-house childcare pre-screening investigations.
Please note: Usage of data is for pre-employment screening purpose only. Applicants have the opportunity to dispute the accuracy of the database by completing a "RECORD CHALLENGE" form, however if the official court record contains an error (data entry or other) applicants must petition the court of jurisdiction for an amended record. The ultimate responsibility for maintaining the accuracy of the information provided lies with the government agency from which this information is extracted. Anyone who uses this information to injure, harass or commit a criminal act may be subject to prosecution. Pending cases are monitored until a disposition is rendered. Arrested individuals with cases pending are innocent until proven guilty. SDS Inc. (nannyclearinghouse.com) reserves the right and sole discretion for database inclusion.
